Baku, September 2, AZERTAC
Şamil Ayrım, head of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye interparliamentary friendship group at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT), praised the determination of the Azerbaijani people during a press conference on the outcomes of the snap parliamentary elections held on Monday.
He noted that Türkiye places great importance on these parliamentary elections, which were conducted across the entire sovereign territory of Azerbaijan for the first time in 30 years.
Highlighting the importance of ensuring peace and stability in the region, Ayrım expressed confidence in an imminent peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
He also mentioned that the observation mission included members from four political parties in Türkiye.
“Azerbaijan is very dear to us. Karabakh is Azerbaijan. With the efforts of President Ilham Aliyev, lasting peace and prosperity will soon be achieved in the South Caucasus,” Ayrım emphasized.
Notably, the Azerbaijani snap parliamentary elections took place on September 1, with voting conducted at 6,478 polling stations across 125 constituencies nationwide, where 990 candidates competed for parliamentary seats.
