GOVERNMENTS OF AZERBAIJAN AND JAPAN SIGN GRANT AGREEMENT

The governments of Azerbaijan and Japan have signed May 31 the $ 8 mln grant agreement on the project of reconstruction of Mushfigabad substation in Baku.

The agreement was signed by Yagub Eyubov, the first Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan and Hideomi Nakasima, charge d'affaires of Japan to Azerbaijan.

Opening the ceremony, Mr. Eyubov told on history of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan. He noted that since the beginning of 1999, the government of Japan has allotted $ 701 mln to Azerbaijan to implement the different projects.

Mr. Nakasima, in his turn, highly appreciated the close relations between the two states, adding that the current ceremony would give an impulse to economic development of Azerbaijan.

In conclusion, the sides exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
