HEADS OF GOVERNMENTS OF AZERBAIJAN AND LITHUANIA SIGN AGREEMENT ON COOPERATION
Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Arthur Rasizade and his Lithuanian counterpart Gidiminas Kirkilas today have signed in Baku the agreement on cooperation in the field of economy, industry and energy. Mr. Rasizade highly valued the Azerbaijani-Lithuanian relations and expressed his hope that current visit of Lithuanian delegation would give impetus to expansion of cooperation and growth in trade turnover. On achievements in Azerbaijani economy due to the global transport and energy projects, Arthur Rasizadeh underlined that sore problem of the country is unresolved Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He told of efforts of the country to solve the conflict and the double standards applied by some countries.
Mr. Kirkilas highly valued the national oil strategy and the democratic reforms of Azerbaijan. The sides also discussed issues of development of cooperation in agriculture, transport and humanitarian areas and the necessity to create the intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation.
When asked about position of his country on Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno Karabakh, Mr. Kirkilas told the press conference following the meeting that Lithuania recognizes territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and supports peaceful solution of the conflict.
