Holland Times writes about Azerbaijan
Baku, October 12 (AZERTAC). The Holland Times has published articles on Azerbaijan.According to Azerbaijan`s Embassy in the Netherlands, the article “European Games - First time in Europe” is dedicated to the first European Games to be held in Baku in 2015. The author says the decision of the European Olympic Committee on holding the first European Games in Azerbaijan is the result of the country`s loyalty to commitments in the field of sport. The development of the Olympic Movement in Azerbaijan started following President Ilham Aliyev`s election as president of the National Olympic Committee of the country. Since that time Azerbaijan became the world`s sport center. The country hosts a number of world and European championships, as well as influential cultural events. All these create ground for high-level organization of the first European Games. The relevant Organizing Committee has been also created under the President Ilham Aliyev`s Order. The head of the Committee is Azerbaijan`s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.
In the article “Southern gas corridor - new era in European energy security” highlights ground laying ceremony of the Southern Gas Corridor held on September 20 in Baku.
The author says Azerbaijan, which is rich with oil and gas resources, had once more proved its leading role in European energy security. The ground of the project, which will transport Azerbaijan`s gas to Europe via Georgia and Turkey, was laid on the 20th anniversary of the Contract of the Century. The ceremony was attended by heads of state and government of the participating countries, as well as representatives of leading oil and gas companies. The project will strengthen Azerbaijan`s economy even more.
Another article is dedicated to the opening of a ferry terminal as part of the first stage of the construction of the New Baku International Trade Sea Port Complex. The author stressed the importance of the New Baku International Trade Sea Port Complex. The new port creates ample opportunities for coping with transport security issues in Azerbaijan, turning Baku into a modern and large logistics and transport hub in the Caspian basin.
