HUMAN BEING REMAINS OF 1.8 MILLION YEARS AGO FOUND IN GEORGIA
As AzerTaj correspondent informs from Tbilisi, Dmaniss (former Bashkechid) region is considered to be one of the most ancient residences in Georgia and in the whole Caucasian region. Remains of ancient human being and living articles, discovered in the course of archeological digs, repeatedly conducted here, prove this fact.
Results of next archeological digs, held in Dmaniss region by an archeological expedition of the Academy of Sciences of Georgia proved this theory once again. Scientists say, human being remains, living 1.8 million years ago, have been discovered here. These are the remains of the fourth hominid in the collection of Georgian archeologists.
Scientists stated that the issue is about representative of hominids - family of primate class, to which homo sapiens belongs as well.
At present, the results of the research are being studied. Colleagues from the USA, Great Britain, and other countries are taking part in this work side by side with Georgian scientists.
