Hungarian PM Orban to visit Serbia on Friday

Baku, November 25 (AZERTAC). Hungary`s Prime Minister Viktor Orban is scheduled to have talks in Belgrade on Friday, according to MTI.

The visit will signal Hungary`s unchanged support, as the next president of the European Union, for Serbia`s EU integration, Hungarian diplomatic sources asked to be unnamed told MTI in the Serbian capital. Orban will meet Serbian President Boris Tadic and Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic. Orban will be accompanied by National Development Minister Tamas Fellegi, Economy Minister Gyorgy Matolcsy, as well as Rural Development Minister Sandor Fazekas.

Orban`s visit will also seek to further strengthen bilateral ties, the diplomats told MTI, adding that cooperation between the two countries was “open and sincere”. Orban and Tadic are expected to discuss the situation of ethnic Hungarians in Vojvodina, Serbia`s northern province, and the Hungarian National Council, a body for representing minority cultural autonomy. Budapest welcomes Belgrade`s constructive approach to these issues, the diplomats told MTI.
