Independence Day of Azerbaijan marked in Dubai
Baku, October 19 (AZERTAC). October 18 - the Independence Day of Azerbaijan has been marked in the United Arab Emirates.
The event was attended by members of the Azerbaijani and Turkish Diaspora organizations, Iraqi Turkmen and representatives of the general public.
Addressing the event, chairman of Azerbaijani Society in Dubai Samir Imanov briefed the participants on the history of Azerbaijan`s independence. He also spoke of what national leader Heydar Aliyev did after he came to power again in 1993 to protect and strengthen the country`s independence. He added a lot of accomplishments had been done in the country as a result of the national leader`s policy.
Imanov pointed out the national leader`s policy was successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
The event participants also saw a documentary on the development processes in Azerbaijan.
