INDUSTRIAL OUTPUT UPS 7% IN AZERBAIJAN
Baku, January 18 (AZERTAC). Industrial output reached AZN 25 billion manats in Azerbaijan in 2008, increasing by 7% over a year and 2.5-fold over the past five years. Successful implementation of the oil strategy allowed to achieve a record-breaking production of 44.5 million tons of oil and 16.3 billion cubic meters of gas, up by 4.6% and 50.4% respectively on the same period last year, Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev said on January 16 at the Cabinet`s Meeting on the results of the socio-economic development in 2008.
Minister pointed out investments in the country amounted to AZN 38 billion.
