INTERIOR AND PROSECUTION BODIES SUCCEED IN DETECTING WORST CRIMES
The Joint search operations by interior and prosecution bodies led on 12 February to detention of Sabuhi Damirov, Ismail Guliyev and Elsever Mammadov, who had kidnapped and killed 10-years old Bahruz Baghirzade, the resident of the village of Karrar in Kurdamir region.
One more detected grave crime is that committed in December 2005 in the village of Kabirli in Agjabedi region when an unknown gang kidnapped a 14-years-old girl. As a result of the joint operation by officers of the Main Criminal Investigation Department of the Interior Ministry, Baku Nasimi district and Agjabedi regional police department, the kidnappers Nereddin Abdulov, Sameddin Nagiyev and Shamil Abdulov were held.
In addition, a number of criminal gangs engaged in robbery operations in the capital Baku have been neutralized.
Search operations by employees of the Main Department for Fight against Organized Crime and Main Criminal Investigation Department of the Interior Ministry, and Sabunchi district Police Department resulted in detention of Georgian citizens David Marikashvili, David Berekishvili and David Khvadagiani, who had been previously convicted more than once. Among the misappropriated items discovered and confiscated were 347 thousand Euro and 685 US dollars, a large number of gold items, and about 10 g of heroin. Investigation into the case has shown the items had been stolen from the apartment of the Baku resident Seyfaddin Mammadov. As a result of a special operation, other persons implicated in this crime, Georgians Dito Sadjia, Gulbat Goushadze and Gocha Eradze have been held and searched with officers finding about 9 g of heroin.
