INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION OF AZERTAC HIGHLY ESTIMATED
Greeting the guest, director general of AZERTAC Aslan Aslanov said the meeting with experienced veteran would be certainly useful and updated him on history of the Agency and its present status.
Noting exclusive role of the nationwide leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in development of the Agency, the director spoke of his care and attention for the journalists, reminded that Azerbaijan became known in the world still in the 70s of the past century thanks to Heydar Aliyev. The guest was also informed about reasons of the coming January 20 tragedy, the history of the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan and its bitter sequences. It has simultaneously been marked, that Heydar Aliyev who in 1993 under the urgent requirement of people has come back to power, has rescued the country from disaster, has saved Azerbaijan from information blockade in which there was the country, has put an end to political-economical crisis. He had been adopted important decisions directed on expansion of activity of AZERTAC, strengthening of its material base, giving to it a worthy place on world information space, improvement of social status of workers. If to address to the history, it is seldom possible to meet heads of the states which as Heydar Aliyev, estimated force of influence of press on society. Continued now by President Ilham Aliyev, the line of democratic development opens new opportunities for the further expansion of freedom of speech and press in Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, has been especially underlined that the Agency gradually expanding its international connections, establishing contacts at a bilateral level now and within the framework of regional structures with leading news agencies of the world, sends the information in the Azerbaijan, English and Russian languages almost to 80 countries of the world. In this sense, AZERTAC attaches special significance to establishment of cooperation and with such authoritative agency, as Associated Press.
Professor Mayron Belkind, having thanked for meeting, has noted, that he is well aware of the realities in Azerbaijan, has emphasized necessity of information exchange between two countries, highly has estimated aspiration of AZERTAC to the international cooperation. Having told about the journalistic activity, the visitor has reminded that for long years he has saved up wide experience, working in India, the Great Britain and Japan. He has emphasized what to work in news agency is interestingly and responsible, has noted, that, using the authority and opportunities, would make necessary efforts for rendering assistance to expansion of international connections of AZERTAC.
