INTERNATIONAL LEGAL COOPERATION EXTENDS
Visiting Azerbaijan the delegation headed by director of mentioned project Bernard Menu, has met with Minister of Justice of the Republic Fikret Mammadov.
Having emphasized, that in Azerbaijan radical reforms on improvement of judicial activity are conducted, the Minister has brought to attention, that serious changes were made in the legislation, on January 19, 2006 the head of Azerbaijani state signed the important Decree connected to modernization of judicial system. At the same time, the Minister has noted, that attaches necessary significance to maintenance of duly and correct execution of judgments in increase of efficiency of justice, spoke about the consecutive and purposeful measures done for improvement of performing affairs, has emphasized value of the cooperation which are carried out in the given area within the framework of project TACIS of the European Union.
With satisfaction having emphasized, that changes in judicial - legal system of Azerbaijan have progressive character, Mr. Bernard Menu has noted, that special attention to such important activity as execution of judgments, and use thus of the international experience, in the whole, render on reforms positive influence, has told about the work done for last year under the project, about the planned measures.
At the meeting, discussed were the questions connected to the organization at School of Judicial Executors of France of training courses for judicial executors, and also with carrying out of educational actions in this area for judges, assistance in computerization of the given service, improvement of the performing legislation, expansion of the international cooperation in this sphere, creation of joint working group for increase of efficiency of the carried out measures, achieved the arrangement on concrete measures.
At the same time, the Minister, having noted, that now election of candidates on vacant posts of judges is carried out on the basis of the most democratic rules, has emphasized value of lectures of the international experts on the given vital topic on long-term initial training courses which for the first time will be organized in the country for candidates for the judge. Having informed, that he is informed on this progressive measure, the visitor has emphasized, that is ready to involve skilled judges from the European countries in training courses for candidates for the judge.
At the meeting, participating was the deputy minister of justice Vilayet Zahirov, the head of department of judicial supervisors and judicial executors, senior judicial official Huseyn Alikhanov.
