Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan visits Baku State University

Baku, December 1 (AZERTAC). Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan Mammadbaqir Bahrami visited Wednesday the Baku State University (BSU), where he met rector Abel Maharramov.

Maharramov briefed the ambassador on the University`s activity and international relations.

The rector said the meeting would contribute to developing educational cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran.

Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Maharramov underlined the importance of the unity of Muslim countries in terms of contribution to settlement of the dispute.

The rector noted Azerbaijan and Iran share the same civilization and culture. He also pointed out educational cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran should be closer.

Ambassador Bahrami, in turn, said he was interested in organization of joint events and projects between BSU and University of Tehran.

On the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the diplomat said his country supports Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
