JSC AZERENERJI TO SIGN LOAN AGREEMENT WITH EBRD TO OVERHAUL AZERBAIJAN TPS

Azerbaijan’s major electricity company JSC Azerenerji said it will sign a loan agreement with the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to overhaul the Azerbaijan Thermoelectric Power Station (TPS).

The Azerbaijan TPS, which was built in the 1980s, is the largest in the South Caucasus.

It has eight blocks of 300 megawatt capacity each.

Earlier this year Russian company ‘Silovie mashini’ repaired one of the TPS’ blocks.

Azerenerji’s reconstruction project includes major overhaul of the remaining seven blocks, water system and flue.
