KAZAKH EMBASSY GIVES OFFICIAL RECEPTION
Extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Andar Shukputov warmly greeted the guests and noted that constitutional act “On State Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan” was adopted this day 14 years ago. For this short period, Kazakhstan could find its place in the international arena. Azerbaijan was one of the first countries where the embassy of Azerbaijan opened. The relations of friendship and neighborliness established by presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev and Heydar Aliyev are now successfully continued under the incumbent president Ilham Aliyev who chose Kazakhstan as one of the first countries to visit. Presidential elections in Kazakhstan were conducted on December 4. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was one of the first leaders to congratulate Nursultan Nazarbayev on his reelection as president of Kazakhstan.
On behalf of President Ilham Aliyev, deputy Milli Majlis chairman Ziyafet Askerov congratulated the people of Kazakhstan on the Independence Day and Nursultan Nazarbayev on his reelection. He noted that the relations of partnership and neighborliness had been developing since 1992. The mutual visits of President Heydar Aliyev and Nursultan Nazarbayev resulted in signing some agreements on overall cooperation between the two nations. Kazakhstan as a strategic partner and ally of Azerbaijan joined Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan project.
The function was attended by Milli Majlis deputies, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Azerbaijan, figures of science and art, representatives of political parties and mass media.
