At the joint news conference, which followed the meeting between visiting Ankara President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus and President of Turkey Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Lithuanian leader noted that soonest settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is needed for the whole region, saying he backs the peaceful resolution of the problem.

Valdas Adamkus stressed that he does not see the European Union without Turkey and Lithuania supports Turkey’s EU membership.

Valdas Adamkus attended a Turkey-Lithuania business forum on June 21.
