Mario Vargas Llosa Awarded 2010 Nobel Prize in Literature

Baku, October 7 (AZERTAC). Peruvian author Mario Vargas Llosa has been today awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature "for his cartography of structures of power and his trenchant images of the individuals resistance, revolt, and defeat," according to the Swedish Academy.

Vargas Llosa, author of novels such as The Green House (1965), has long been one of Latin America`s most significant writers and is the first Latino to win the prize since Gabriel Garcia Marquez claimed it in 1982.
