MEETING IN THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE
Having stopped on democratic reforms in the field of construction of lawful state and the further development of civil society in Azerbaijan, the concrete measures directed on maintenance of human rights, including suffrages of citizens, the Minister has noted value of fruitful cooperation with the authoritative international organizations, including with the Council of Europe, in the cause of the further improvement of elective practice.
Eduard Lintner has noted, that he is aware about reforms carried out in Azerbaijan, that democratization of society in Germany needed 100 years while in Azerbaijan for short time in this area significant successes have been reached. Having informed, that during his visit he has been in the places of confinement, he has highly estimated improvement of conditions of maintenance of the convicted, the measures directed on maintenance of their rights, the radical reforms conducted in the penitentiary system as a whole. The guest, who has arrived for acquaintance with the course of preparation in Azerbaijan to the by-elections to Milli Majlis, having emphasized necessary measures on objective and fair elections, has expressed confidence that process will be lead according to the international standards.
At the meeting in which also took part the expert of the European Union, the former member of the European Parliament, Ex-Prime Minister of Germany Varner Munch and the deputy minister of justice of Azerbaijan Togrul Musayev, has been given detailed answers to questions interesting visitors, held comprehensive exchange of opinions.
