MEETING IN THE MINISTRY OF TAXES WITH IMF DELEGATION
At the meeting, exchanged were views on forecasts concerning current situation of tax revenues to the state budget for 2006, cooperation with IMF and programs of the technical assistance, directed on improvement of the tax laws and tax administration. Having noted, that cooperation with IMF within the framework of reforms conducted in tax system brings effective results, minister Fazil Mammadov informed about use of recommendations of the structure directed on improvement of both legislative base, and tax administration.
Having stopped on receipts in the state budget for the expired 11 months current year, the Minister has noted, that during the specified period forecasts of the state budget completely had been executed, means for the sum of 6 billion 382,1 billion manats received were in the budget. In comparison with the corresponding period of the last year, incomes on taxes have increased on 1 billion 787,0 billion manats or nearly so for 40 percent. It has been marked, that as the successful result of regional economic policy pursued in the country, volume of tax revenues from non-oil sector has increased approximately by 40 percent, and in connection with increase of world market prices for oil, relevant receipt from oil sector have increased approximately for 36 percent. Minister of taxes has expressed confidence that payment in the state budget forecasted for 2005 of means will be provided at 7 billion 102,0 billion manats. Fazil Mammadov, having noted the optimistically approaches and parameters on tax revenues for 2006, has emphasized, that the next year in the budget will be directed on 4 billion manats more, than in 2005.
Having expressed satisfaction with work in the field of improvement of tax administration, the head of mission of IMF Vitaly Kramarenko has noted, that the projects which are carried out within the framework of technical assistance in the Ministry of Taxes since 2003, can be an example and for other post-Soviet countries.
At the meeting, also discussed were the questions connected to attraction of oil sector to taxes.
