Minister of National Security of Azerbaijan Eldar Mahmudov met with visiting Director of the Austrian Federal Agency for State Protection and Counter Terrorism Gert-Rene Polli, the Ministry’s PR Center announced.

Fight against organized crime and international terrorism, illegal migration and other related problems, as well as prospects of cooperation between the two countries’ special services were discussed during the conversation.

Minister Eldar Mahmudov informed his counterpart on the current security situation in Azerbaijan, influencing factors and measures for its maintenance.

Mr. Gert-Rene Polli said he was well impressed with his visit to Azerbaijan, and satisfied with the developing Azerbaijan-Austria relationship, including that between the two countries special services. He expressed confidence that the meetings held in Baku would be useful for strengthening ties between Azerbaijan and Austria.

During the conversation held in an atmosphere of sincerity and mutual understanding, the parties also exchanged views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
