MM SPEAKER MEETS WITH IRANIAN DEFENSE MINISTER
MM speaker told of the historical Azerbaijan-Iran relations and role of the Heads of States in developing these ties. He mentioned the documents Azerbaijan and Iran signed to develop defense, economic, political and cultural relations. According to head of Azerbaijani parliament, these documents play a key part in enhancing the existing relations.
O.Asadov said these kinds of visits are of great importance for deepening bilateral relations. He told of the intergovernmental commission’s work and noted that there are wide opportunities for increasing the trade turnover.
Mustafa Mohammad-Najjar expressed gratitude to President and people of Azerbaijan for providing assistance following devastating Iran earthquake. Minister noted that there are all conditions to develop bilateral ties and these visits help achieve all our objectives.
Then, the meeting focused on other issues of mutual interest.
Azerbaijani ambassador in Iran Abbasali Hasanov and ambassador of Iran in Baku Afshar Suleymani were present at the meeting.
