Mohammad Ishaq Dar: “Pakistan follows Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development with interest”

“Pakistan follows Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development with interest”, said Minister of Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatization of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mohammad Ishaq Dar who is visiting Baku to attend the 48th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank as he met with Azerbaijani Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev.
The Azerbaijani Minister highlighted the Pakistani President’s visit to Azerbaijan in March current year, the meetings he held, adding how Azerbaijan-Pakistan business forum contributed to expanding relations between the two countries.
He noted that the two countries support each other in international organizations, successfully cooperate in various fields, including in the humanitarian sphere.
Hailing Azerbaijan's economy, the country's economic and financial stability Mr. Mustafayev underlined the priority of the non-oil sector, as well as opportunities for cooperation with Pakistan in various sectors of economy.
Minister of Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatization of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mohammad Ishaq Dar in his turn noted that his country has always supported Azerbaijan`s just position on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Mr. Dar highly appreciating the first European Games to be held current year, the Islamic Solidarity Games to be held in 2017 in Baku, shared his views on the prospects of expanding economic relations between the two countries.
