“Multiculturalism: achievements and problems” panel session starts in Baku
Baku, October 11 (AZERTAC). Within the Baku International Humanitarian Forum, a panel session “Multiculturalism: achievements and problems”, started today at the Hilton Baku Hotel.
The discussions revolved around the presentations on topics “Multiculturalism in state policy” presided by Yefim Pivovar, Russian academician, chairman of the Russia-Azerbaijan Society, where the panelists spoke of the sub-topics “Comparative analysis of the multiculturalism policy in different countries”, “Dynamics of the idea of multiculturalism in cultural policy strategy”, “Multiculturalism in the Caucasus: the Model of Azerbaijan” and others.
The panelists were Noble Prize winner in economics James Mirrlees, former ambassador of Bulgaria to Azerbaijan Ivan Palchev, representative of Baku Slavic University Etibar Najafov, as well as Boris Morozov (Israel), Olga Asavyeva (RF) and others who spoke of different aspects of multiculturalism.
In the panel session on the topic “Multiculturalism in consciousness of masses”, presided by Ilham Mammadzade (National Academy of Azerbaijan), presenters were Professor Nargiz Pashayeva (Azerbaijan), former director general of UNESCO Koïchiro Matsuura, editor-in-chief of the “Druzhba Narodov” magazine of Russia Aleksandr Ebaniodze, Gezina Dreus-Silla (Germany) and others who spoke of multiculturalism in the globalization age and development of inter-civilization cooperation.
The third panel of session featured the topic on “Multiculturalism in science and philosophy”.
