Mr. Ahmadov said Mr. Ontsanu’s particular contribution to mounting the monument to national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev at one of the central parks in Bucharest, is highly praised in Azerbaijan. “Erection of the monument to the great leader Heydar Aliyev in Bucharest has significantly strengthened friendly ties between our two peoples,” he said.
Mayor Ontsanu thanked for the invitation Baku saying it is a great honor for him to visit the great leader Heydar Aliyev’s motherland. ”After the meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, we have made sure the head of state continues with confidence the political course of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, and Azerbaijan has great, brilliant future,” he said.
Mr. Ontsanu described the current relations between Azerbaijan and Romania as intensively developing, He advised that the Romanian President Traian Besesku would visit Azerbaijan in October 2006 saying “we are hopeful this visit will expand and strengthen our ties”. “Azerbaijan is a rapidly developing European country, and we are interested in expansion of our relations,” the Mayor added.
