NATO PA DEPUTY CHAIR CALLS FOR PUTTING PRESSURE ON ARMENIA
Turkish expert in Caucasian issues Davud Shahiner accused Armenia of playing “dirty games” He noted that explicitly ignoring the internationally recognized borders, Armenia threatens Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan. “Armenians seize neighboring territories, and then, falsifying the century-old events, blame Turkey. Who are their supporters? French politicians, German deputies with anti-Turkish sentiment and venal American congressmen,” Shahiner said. The expert expressed regret that none of them is talking today about the Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan.
Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tajip Erdogan told journalists his country had undertaken important steps towards settlement of the existing problems with Armenia opening archives for Armenian researchers, but the opposite side, according to him, not only avoided counter steps but even detained Turkish scholar conducting research in archives and libraries in Yerevan.
“Armenian historians are allowed to use our archives. They will definitely make sure that calling those times’ Armenian community’s migration to other places genocide is a great mistake. We do not doubt this mistake will be eliminated,” he said.
