NEW PA BSEC REGULATIONS TO APPEAR SOON

The work at drawing up of new Regulations of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation is about to be over. Head of the Milli Majlis delegation to PA BSEC Asaf Hajiyev told AzerTAj reporter the tense emerged during General Assembly’s 2002 Tbilisi meeting is still maintained. To settle the problem, the delegations’ heads decided to introduce amendments in the organization’s Regulations. The final work at the document to meet interests of all the member countries will be carried out in Tirana, Albania during the forthcoming meeting of the structure’s Political Committee.

Sitting of the General Assembly is expected in June 2004 in St. Petersburg. However, the document will be most likely approved at the Assembly’s December meeting in Turkey. The new Regulations will allow countries with little number of representatives also hold high positions and enter international secretariat.
