Notizie Geopolitiche: TAP is significant for Italy’s energy market

Rome, October 13 (AZERTAC). Italian Notizie Geopolitiche website has hailed the importance of the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline project (TAP) for the country.

“TAP is of great significance for Italy`s energy market,” an article posted by the website says.

The article says the project is designed to transport natural gas from the Shahdeniz field in the Caspian Sea to Europe. “The pipeline will transport 10 billion cubic metres of gas per year to Europe, with the amount expected to reach 20 billion cubic metres in future.”

The website says Spanish Enagas` joining the projects as a shareholder testifies to its importance.

The articles quotes Giampaolo Russo, TAP Italy's Country Manager, as saying that the pipeline will positively affect the life in the regions it will run through.

The website also praises the project in terms of ensuring the diversification of energy supply routes in Europe.
