OIL PRODUCTION FROM WESTERN AZERI PLATFORM RESUMED
bp Azerbaijan has resumed oil production from Western Azeri production platform of Azeri Chirag Guneshli oil field. As for launching the Central Azeri platform, the investigation of the reasons of gas leakage near the platform is going on.
This July Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli has produced 841,169,000 bpd of oil. Before the end of 2008, BP-Azerbaijan plans to produce 134,000 barrels of oil from Chirag-1 platform, 243,500 bpd from Central Azeri platform, 235,300 from Western Azeri, 144,400 bpd from Eastern Azeri platform and 82,800 bpd from Deepwater Guneshli platform.
Daily oil production in 2006 made up roughly 472,000 bpd.
