OMBUDSMAN OF AZERBAIJAN HOLDS ROUNDTABLE MEETING

A "roundtable" on the subject “Peace as part of state policy of Azerbaijan” was held Monday at the Ombudsman Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Ombudsperson of Azerbaijan Ms. Elmira Suleymanova spoke about policy of genocide against Azerbaijanis pursuing by Armenians and their supporters for the last two hundred years.

She stressed Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty would be restored thanks to the political will of the country’s leadership.

Ms. Suleymanova assessed the adoption of the resolution entitled “the Situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan” at the 62nd session of the UN General Assembly as one of the greatest successes of Azerbaijan’s diplomacy.

Azerbaijani Ombudsperson made a statement on March 31- the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis at the meeting.

The statement was sent to the UN Secretary General, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Council of Europe, OSCE, International and European Ombudsman institutions, Asian Ombudsman Association, Foreign Embassies in Baku and Azerbaijani embassies abroad.
