Oybek Mirzoyev: Art and culture unite peoples faster than anything else

“Our fundamental common values and cultural norms are what primarily unite our peoples. Thanks to a shared language, we understand one another’s mentality, musical sensibility, and spiritual traditions rooted in the same origins. That is why works such as “Arshin Mal Alan” and beloved films like “Gayınana” resonate with all of us,” said Oybek Mirzoyev, Artistic Director of the Uzbekistan State Symphony Orchestra, in an interview with AZERTAC.
According to Mirzoyev, the Days of Uzbek Culture held in Azerbaijan once again demonstrate that art and culture are the fastest bridges connecting nations. “We are proud of this brotherhood and wish our friendship to remain strong, distances to feel shorter, and our unity and solidarity to endure,” he emphasized.
Mirzoyev also noted that the Uzbek delegation received a warm and sincere welcome from the very first day of their arrival in Azerbaijan. He stressed that the concert was organized at a high level and added that the audience’s affection and applause brought great joy to the performers.
“The music we play on stage is the best way for us musicians to express ourselves,” the artistic director continued. “We would rather play than talk.”
