PACE FALL SESSION KICKS OFF
Baku, October 4 (AZERTAC). The fall session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has started today in Strasbourg.
Opening the session, President of PACE Movlut Cavusoglu briefed the participants on what the Assembly had done since its summer session, as well as his visits to Russia and France.
During the session Vaclav Kubata was elected Vice-President of the PACE with respect to the Czech Republic.
The parliamentarians also decided to discuss a wide range of issues, including national security, fight against extremism, children without parental care, child abuse in institutions, human rights and business, strategy, governance and functioning of the Council of Europe Development Bank , functioning of democratic institutions in Ukraine and observation of the constitutional referendum in Moldova.
Azerbaijan`s parliamentary delegation led by Samad Seyidov is participating in the session.
The delegation includes Gultakin Hajibayli, Rafael Huseynov, Ganira Pashayeva, Aydın Abbasov and Sabir Haciyev.
The agenda does not include any issue on Azerbaijan.
Rafael Huseynov was planned to make a report in the event on “Noise and light pollution”, but it was postponed until next session.
