PACE MONITORING COMMITTEE HOLDS HEARINGS DEVOTED TO ELECTIONS IN AZERBAIJAN
The member of delegation of the Azerbaijan Parliament Aydin Mirzazade in the interview to correspondent of AZERTAC about hearings has told: “Representatives of opposition have negatively treated the recognition of mandates of our delegation, having noted, that they regret for PSCE the decision. They have declared, they were not allowed to act from the high tribune, and have stated judgments not corresponding truth about infringements at elections. They have told, that in case of conditions not suiting them they will refuse participation in forthcoming by-elections.
Arguments and proofs shown by vice-speaker of Milli Majlis Bahar Muradova and the head of delegation Samad Seyidov have shown full groundlessness of all accusations, which have been put forward by representatives of opposition, discrepancy of the majority of the figures they stated. As a matter of fact, the opposition now gives more preferences to political speculation around the given question, trying in this way to veil absence of their social base in society.
L. Platvoet repeatedly called representatives of opposition not to digress, having emphasized, that refusal of participation in by-elections means a step back in democracy. The deputies elected from opposition should take part in sessions of parliament and state the position through parliament.
Representatives of opposition, as always, have once again shown their weak position.
