‘Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan will be democratic and legal’
Baku, November 4 (AZERTAC). “I think there is already a tradition of democratic elections in Azerbaijan. And these parliamentary elections will also be democratic and legal,” said head of the Azerbaijani President`s Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev.
Speaking to journalists, Mehdiyev said the government had created all necessary conditions for the elections to be democratic.
“Our citizens will see themselves that all necessary conditions have been ensured to hold the democratic parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan.”
He also commented on the second report on the pre-electoral situation in the country, which was made by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.
Mehdiyev said the report can be considered mainly positive.
“Except certain faults featured in the report, it can be considered as positive,” he added.
In response to the question about the Armenians` changing the name of Azerbaijan`s occupied city of Aghdam, the head of the Presidential Administration said international organizations must also strongly condemn the move.
“This is a new type of the game by certain powers in Armenia. It proves that Armenia`s radical powers are trying to make the relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia more tense.”
“So I consider it very negative. I think that international organizations must also sharply condemn such moves and put an end to the Armenians` games,” said Mehdiyev.
