Plaque to Azerbaijan`s national leader to be installed in Vologda
Baku, November 3 (AZERTAC). A memorial plaque commemorating Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev will be installed in a park in Vologda, Russia.
The inauguration of the plaque will take place Thursday as part of a visit of consuls general of Azerbaijan, Belgium, Ukraine and Cyprus as well as diplomats from Belarus, Romania, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Peru and Angola to Vologda.
Heydar Aliyev visited Vologda in 1983 as a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union to award the city with the Order of the October Revolution. During his stay in Vologda Azerbaijan`s national leader visited several factories, a museum of local lore and planted an oak in a park near a monument to Belyayev.
