PRESIDENT CONGRATULATES THE NATION ON QURBAN BAYRAM
Dear fellow countrymen!
I offer my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to you and all our compatriots around the world on the occasion of Qurban bayram, the day of solidarity and brotherhood between Muslims.
Azerbaijan has never lost touch with its historical roots, and managed to safeguard its national traditions, religious convictions, faith and ceremonies even though had been living under bans of alien ideologies and regimes for many years.
One of such traditions is Qurban bayram, which has been officially celebrated every year in today’s independent Azerbaijan since democratic and legal principles, as well as freedoms of religion and conscience were established in the country.
Solemnly marking for centuries the blessed day, when the Most High handed down Islam to people as a path of truth, our nation has been displaying with an open heart its commitment to the word of God, ideals common to all mankind, and national and spiritual values. Qurban bayram is both a symbol of mercy, humanism and brotherhood between people and living embodiment of Muslims’ readiness for whatever self-sacrifice in the name of noble ideas.
Joining in these holly days your intentions and prayers for peace, progress and welfare of our Republic, I remember those who sacrificed their lives for independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and ask Allah to rest their souls in peace. I express confidence that this year’s Qurban will also mark a triumph in our country of national and moral solidarity, and noble deeds.
Dear sisters and brothers!
Today I ask the Most High to bless you with good health, family happiness and welfare in your homes.
I wish you a Happy Qurban!
