PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV ATTENDS OPENING CEREMONIES IN LANKARAN
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev came here to partake in the opening ceremony.
After cutting the ribbon, President Ilham Aliyev visited the units and wards of the center.
The new medical center employs 300 people and has been provided with the up-to-date equipment worth $3 million. The equipment is mostly designed for diagnosis and treatment of renal diseases.
President highly appreciated the work that has been done, saying everyone in Azerbaijan now can undergo treatment for renal insufficiency without going anywhere else. According to the President, considering hemodialysis devices were installed here, there is a need to provide hospitals in Baku with such equipment.
Then, the ceremony dealing with opening of the Lankaran diagnostic and treatment center was held. The ceremony was opened by head of Lankaran Executive Power Suleyman Mikayilov.

On August 11, President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of the milk processing plant in Lankaran.
President Ilham Aliyev was informed here that this plant would start rolling out high-quality dairy produce in 2007. The plant with the capacity of over 50 tons will employ over 1000 families.
The plant, which cost $18 million, was established by the Palmali group of companies. The equipment was delivered from Turkey and Germany. The plant is expected to export its produce to the world markets.
President Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with the plant’s labs as well as grading, packaging and quality control processes. Azerbaijani Leader highlighted the importance of establishing this kind of processing factories in the provinces.

The new stadium of Khazar-Lankaran football club was put into operation in Lankaran.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony.
President of Khazar-Lankaran Mubariz Masimov informed the Head of State that the stadium with the capacity 15 thousand is up to the UEFA standards. The stadium, which cost $15 million, can host international competitions. The stadium employs over 150 people.
President highly assessed the stadium, saying it will contribute to Lankaran football and other kinds of sport. Mr. Ilham Aliyev met footballers and coaches of Neftchi and Khazar-Lankaran clubs that were going to clash the same day.

On August 11, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva familiarized themselves with the repair work in the Osman Mirzayev mixed boarding school located in the city of Lankaran.
The Head of State was informed that the over 600 students study here together with orphaned children. The school will include canteen, bedrooms, carpet-weaving unit, gym and other facilities.
President recommended to bring the school’s exterior to the modern standards as well.

The international airport to come on stream in September next year will be provided with the state-of-the-art equipment.
President met with workers of Turkey’s Zema company, which is involved in the construction work, and stressed the importance of constructing international airports that meet the world standards.
