PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV MEETS USA DEPUTY ENERGY SECRETARY
Mr. Sell conveyed to the Azerbaijani President the greetings of the U.S. President George Bush and the country’s Energy Secretary.
He said the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline is of great importance to Azerbaijan, to the region and to the USA at the same time.
He congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on Azerbaijan’s growing role in energy providing, and completion of the BTC project.
“We are glad to see your progress and are confident that our cooperation will enhance. The Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline will also be a success”, said Clay Sell.
President Ilham Aliyev also asked Clay Sell to convey his greetings to the U.S. President George Bush and Energy Secretary.
Ilham Aliyev said Azerbaijan highly estimates the USA’s important role in the BTC project.
“The Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline will be a new stage in energy providing. We are sure that this project will also be a success, and energy cooperation between our countries will further develop”, said the Azerbaijani leader.
President Ilham Aliyev and Clay Sell also discussed a wide range of other questions of mutual concern.
