PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES AMBASSADOR OF PAKISTAN MOHAMMAD HAFIZ
The Ambassador thanked the President and government of Azerbaijan for the support rendered to him during his tenure.
He noted pointed out that the 2004 visit by Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf to Azerbaijan, and that of his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev to Pakistan in 2005, had played a particular role in bringing the relationship between the two countries to the current level, which he said, is very high.
Mr. Hafiz said during his tenure as Ambassador to Azerbaijan he had witnessed substantial economic and social progress in the country.
Touching on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, the Ambassador said his government and people have always been supported the fair stance of Azerbaijan with regard to the problem, and stressed the importance to resolve it on the basis of principles and norms of the international law.
President Ilham Aliyev pointed out that Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations are now experiencing successful development in various fields, and praised the Ambassador Hafiz’s contribution to that.
The Azeri leader highly valued the two countries’ cooperation within international organizations.
He expressed confidence in further development of existing relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
