PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES EU REPRESENTATIVE FOR SOUTH CAUCASUS
Mr. Talvitie let the President know that this was his final visit to Azerbaijan in his capacity as the EU Representative for the South Caucasus.
He recalled with pleasure the meetings with national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev he had during his previous visits to the country.
Pointing to steadily growing interest towards Azerbaijan, Mr. Talvitie said that over the period of his tenure he had become an eye-witness of real progress in the country.
Speaking of the ever-expanding relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union, he emphasized the importance of reciprocal visits by representatives of the parties.
Recalling President Ilham Aliyev’s successful visits to the European countries, including those to Brussels, Heikki Talvitie pointed to their important role in the process of Azerbaijan’s integration into Europe.
The Azerbaijani leader thanked Mr. Talvitie for his activities as the EU Representative for the South Caucasus, and contribution he had made to development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union.
President Ilham Aliyev noted that all of his talks with Mr. Talvitie during his visits to Azerbaijan were really fruitful.
He finally expressed confidence in further development of Azerbaijan-European Union relationship.
