PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES IMF DELEGATION
He said the delegation’s visit aims to hold consultations with relevant structures in Azerbaijan noting the talks will be concentrated on implementation of the country’s 2005 budget and economic development in 2006.
Mentioning this year’s high economic growth rate in Azerbaijan Mr. Berengaut said this is a result of macroeconomic stability, successful implementation of budget and foreign policy, as well as of other important influencing factors. He expressed confidence that cooperation between Azerbaijan and the International Monetary Fund will be successful in the future.
President Ilham Aliyev for his part expressed satisfaction with the Azerbaijan-IMF cooperation describing the budget rise, realization of global energy projects and other accomplishments as basic indicators of economic progress in the country.
The Head of State said that concrete work is being done to maintain macroeconomic stability in Azerbaijan. Particular attention in the country’s economic policy, according to the President, is being paid to the principles of balancing.
President Ilham Aliyev noted that in the coming years Azerbaijan will receive huge revenues adding “we pay particular attention to their effective use and management.”
He emphasized that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with the world’s leading financial structures including the International Monetary Fund, and expressed confidence in continuation of successful partnership.
