PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES IRAN’S FOREIGN MINISTER MANOUCHEHR MOTTAKI
The Minister conveyed warm greetings of his President Mahmud Ahmadinejad to President Ilham Aliyev.
He described the Azerbaijan-Iran relationship as intensively developing adding that the national leader Heydar Aliyev’s policy towards strengthening the two country’s cooperation is successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
Minister Mottaki also congratulated the Azerbaijani leader on successful conduct of the recent parliamentary elections in the country. He expressed confidence that relationship between Azerbaijan and Iran would continue developing steadily.
Recalling with pleasure his visit to Iran in early 2005, President Ilham Aliyev noted that the talks held and the documents signed during it laid a solid foundation for enhancing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran.
Having mentioned the great contribution made by national leader Heydar Aliyev to development of the Iran-Azerbaijan relationship, the Head of State confirmed the continuation of his course today.
President Ilham Aliyev described the Iranian Foreign Minister’s visit shortly after Presidential elections in the country as an indicator of high level of the bilateral relationship.
He noted that joint economic projects are being already realized in line with the signed documents, and expressed confidence in success of cooperation in the future.
President Ilham Aliyev asked Minister Manouchehr Mottaki to convey his greetings to his Iranian counterpart Mahmud Ahmadinejad.
