PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN RECEIVES CREDENTIALS OF NEWLY APPOINTED AMBASSADOR OF USA
Submitting her credentials to the Head of the Azerbaijan State, Ambassador Anne Derse said she wishes to ‘closely work with the Azerbaijan state to deepen cooperation in fighting terrorism, strengthening of global and regional stability, establishment of security, increase of world energy safety and for the development of Azerbaijan as a democratic and modern state’.
The USA Ambassador and President Aliyev were taken their photos in memory.
President of Azerbaijan wished success to Ms. Anne Derse expressing confidence that the relations between two countries will further strengthen for mutual benefit. ‘We are very pleased with the level of bilateral relations’, the President emphasized. ‘As you noted, we cooperate in numerous fields, and have full understanding and mutual support in all questions. Our relations have the ground of strategic partnership. The United States is our friendly country’.
Then, President Ilham Aliyev reminded his recent visit to Washington, estimating it as useful and efficient. ‘The visit will play important role in development of our relations in the years ahead’, he said.
Ambassador Ms. Anne Derse expressed gratitude for kind words and warm reception, noting high hospitality of the Azerbaijani people that she felt immediately after her arrival in Baku. ‘Azerbaijan is an important friendly and partner state for the United States’, she underlined. ‘I am thankful for participation of the Azerbaijani servicemen in peacemaking operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Our struggle against terrorism goes ahead’, the Ambassador said.
