PRESIDENT OF USA EXPRESSED SATISFACTION WITH THE NEAR EASTERN POLICY OF TURKEY
Rejep Tayyip Erdogan and George Bush have expressed satisfaction with signing of the document on strategic cooperation between two countries. The head of the Turkish Government informed the President of the United States on the negotiations lead with the Prime Minister of Lebanon Fuad Senior and the head of Syrian state Bashar Asad.
Having noted, that the bombardments made by Israel because of actions of Hezbollah, will lead to falling of the lawful government of Lebanon, Mr. Erdogan asked George Bush to make efforts directed on quick achievement of ceasefire and opening of corridor for rendering humanitarian assistance to the peace population.
George Bush, in turn, promised to give instruction to provide a corridor of the humanitarian help for Lebanon. Having thanked the Government of Turkey for assistance to the settlement of problems in the Near East, he has told: “You show strong leadership in region”.
The parties also have discussed questions of combat against the international terrorism, have lead exchange of opinions on neutralization terrorists in the north of Iraq.
