PRESIDENTS OF AZERBAIJAN AND IRAN ATTENDS INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF GAS PIPELINE PROJECT

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad today attend the inaugural ceremony to deliver natural gas via Iran to Nakhchivan taken place before the new building of the company Nakhchivangaz Ltd.

The Presidents lighted a torch symbolizing supply of the first gas putting an end to the Nakhchivan population’s 15-year waiting for natural gas. They then cut the ribbon symbolizing opening the office building of the Nakhchivangaz Ltd, where got acquainted with the general plan of the pipeline, map of the area it passes through, and viewed the gas gas-stoves and gas-meters to be installed in houses and flats.

Afterwards, both leaders addressed the ceremony.

After the ceremony, an official reception was given on behalf of the Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
