Prospects of energy cooperation with Azerbaijan in spotlight of Czech media outlets

Czech media outlets have published articles on the results of the visit of Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babiš to Azerbaijan, highlighting the prospects for enhancing energy cooperation between the two countries and the strategic importance of gas supplies.
The Novinky.cz publication notes that the Czech Republic intends to import 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Azerbaijan annually. According to the country’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Karel Havlíček, although the relevant agreement has not yet been signed, negotiations are continuing successfully and the contract is at a very promising stage.
The publication notes that the leading Czech energy company ČEZ is interested in participating in the project and is taking part in initiatives related to these gas supplies.
