Romanian media: European Union considers Azerbaijan a reliable energy partner
Bucharest, May 6, AZERTAC
Romania’s "Calea Europeană" publication posted an article highlighting the visit of Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, to Baku, as well as underscoring Azerbaijan's growing significance as a strategic energy partner for Europe.
The article mentions that in the current geopolitical situation, the European Union attaches special importance to the diversification of energy sources, and in this context, Azerbaijan comes to the fore as a reliable supplier.
The article quotes Kaja Kallas as saying: "Azerbaijan is a valued and reliable energy partner for the European Union."
“Relations between Baku and Brussels are not limited only to energy cooperation. The Middle Corridor, transport links, digital transformation and regional security issues have also become one of the key areas of strategic dialogue between the sides,” the article further notes.
According to experts, Europe's interest in the South Caucasus is linked with stabilizing role Azerbaijan plays in the region.
The article emphasizes that Eastern European countries, including Romania, are interested in expanding energy and cargo flows from the Caspian region. In this regard, Azerbaijan is considered one of the key partners in both energy security and the development of logistics links between Europe and Asia.
The Romanian publication considers that Kaja Kallas' visit to Baku is an indicator of the European Union's pragmatic and long-term approach to relations with Azerbaijan.
