RUSSIAN SENATOR AHMEDOV SAYS AZERBAIJAN PASSED EXAMINATION
Member of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of Russia Farhad Ahmedov who in staff of the international mission observed the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, has shared impressions about the course of elections. Farhad Ahmedov has stated, that he is very proud and pleased that took part as the observer in staff of the international mission on elections in Azerbaijan. As he said, young independent Azerbaijan has passed the examinations on conformity of the conducted elections to standards of the international norms. “The requirements were very high, while the opportunities limited as it was only for a week that the order about finger-marking and other measures for carrying out of transparent elections has been made. It, in fact, is completely not simple - to mark fingers about 4 million voters. And nevertheless, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has gone on it, having proved, that Azerbaijan adhered fair and transparent elections. I am very pleased with results of elections, and, first of all, that any “orange revolution” on which they spoke much and which have taken place in Ukraine, Kyrghyzstan and Georgia, in Azerbaijan has not taken place. I am very glad to this and sincerely I want, that Azerbaijan was stable, predicted and continued the way of development. All these are in hands of the people of Azerbaijan people and the Azerbaijan Government”.
The senator said it was a good start. The first start is the signing of the “Contract of the Century” that has grandiose political and economic value. The second is lining and construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, and the third - free and fair elections of new parliament of Azerbaijan which, undoubtedly, will provide the country with new international laws that will promote the further carrying out of economic, political reforms in Azerbaijan and finally will allow to solve the painful Karabakh problem”.
