SENATE OF KAZAKHSTAN STARTED ACTIVITY IN NEW STRUCTURE
After formation of the Upper Chamber of the parliament of Kazakhstan, the Senate held its first session under presidency of head of the state Nursultan Nazarbayev. The president re-nominated candidacy of the former chairman of Nurtay Abykayeva. He noted that for two years of work of Nurtay Abikayeva, the authority of the Senate on the country and on the foreign states has increased. Now ahead is more difficult task. It is necessary to raise more well-being of people, to carry out radical reforms in agriculture, take measures for admission of Kazakhstan in members of the World Trade Organization.
As a result of voting, Chairman of the Senate has been elected Nurtay Abikayev.
The Senate comprises 39 deputies, of which, 7 are appointed by the President of Kazakhstan.
Chairman of the Senate is considered the second person in the country.
