SOCAR CEO meets delegation of Swiss Canton of Geneva
Baku, October 27 (AZERTAC). President of the Azerbaijan`s State Oil Company (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev met with the delegation of Swiss Canton of Geneva, which is here to attend the Azerbaijan-Switzerland business forum.
Speaking in the meeting, Abdullayev touched upon rapid development of Azerbaijan, particularly in energy sphere, highlighting existence of favorable investment climate.
SOCAR President informed the delegation on Azerbaijan`s achievements in the energy sector in recent years. He underlined existence of government-level attention to the non-oil sector.
On the operations of the “SOCAR-Trading” Company, which specializes in sale of oil and oil products in Geneva, Pierre-Franзois Unger, State Councilor, Department of Economy and Health Republic and Canton of Geneva said the Swiss side is interested in expansion of this cooperation.
Abdullayev pointed out that gas agreements signed in Izmir on Tuesday contribute to Azerbaijan`s important role in energy security of Europe for the South Energy Corridor project.
The meeting was also attended by the Swiss Ambassador to Azerbaijan Sabine Ulmann Shaban.
