SOCAR President meets CEO of Statoil Hydro Company
Baku, November 10 (AZERTAC). President of the Azerbaijan`s State Oil Company (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev met with Chief Executive Officer of Norwegian Statoil Hydro Company Helge Lund.
Speaking in the meeting, Abdullayev underlined the role of Statoil in the development of Azerbaijan`s oil-gas industry. He stressed importance of cooperation in the second phase of Shah Deniz field development, as well.
SOCAR President highlighted significance of the Shah Deniz project to ensure European energy security. Abdullayev also briefed the guests on gas agreements signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey in Izmir. He said these documents expand Azerbaijan`s role in European energy security under South Energy Corridor project.
For his part, Statoil Hydro CEO praised achievements in energy sector in Azerbaijan and expressed satisfaction over Statoil`s active participation in development processes. Lund pointed out existence of successful partnership relations between SOCAR and Statoil and wished to deepen these ties further.
