SOCAR PRESIDENT MEETS WITH DELEGATION OF UKRAINE

President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic Rovneg Abdullayev met with member of the Ukrainian delegation, which arrived in Baku to participate in the 13th international Caspian oil and gas exhibition.

The delegation mainly composed of members of the joint-stock companies Ukrtransnafta and Ukrnafta also included Polish specialists working with them within the framework of the European Union grant. The delegation members updated SOCAR management on laying Odessa-Brody pipeline to Plotsk. They expressed their intention use SOCAR’s assistance to establish the plant refining Azerbaijani oil in Ukraine.

Rovneg Abdullayev expressed his satisfaction with the presentation of the project, saying Azerbaijan is interested in securing alternative routes for getting access to the European markets. He said that the option of Odessa-Brody-Plotsk might be considered as well and there are some positive points for Azerbaijan in this project supported by the European Union. SOCAR president said the specialists of the company are involved in the intergovernmental Ukraine-Azerbaijan working group for energy sector and expressed confidence that the work towards development of bilateral ties will be continued.
